The Power of Jude
The Silent Helper

Read a Selection from Section 1:

Experts on Jude point out that when you petition Jude he answers your prayers in the same fashion he lived quietly, kindly, without fanfare. That's the way it seems to happen. Jude operates smoothly and unemotionally. Life goes on, seemingly oblivious to the presence of Jude, and than one day we realize that our prayers to St. Jude have been answered, that which was requested is suddenly a reality. We didn't even seem to notice what was happening. This steady, unassuming hand of Jude is quite often used to explain the tremendous following Jude has today.

It hasn't always been that way. Jude didn't always have the following he has today. Some say the problem was his name. The name Jude (perhaps Jesus' best friend) and the name Judas (the betrayer of Jesus) is, in Greek and Arabic, written and pronounced the same. It's the same name. That's why, to distinguish them, one was known as Jude or Judas Thaddeus, while the other was known as Judas, or Judas Iscariot.

The death of the betrayer, Judas Iscariot, did naught to defuse the confusion. Even the early Christians had difficulty in distinguishing Jude from Judas. Thus, the faithful, in the overexercise of caution, lest they make an error and pray to Judas, the betrayer of Jesus, directed their prayers to saints of potentially less dangerous origin. They prayed to Jude Thaddeus only after they had tried everybody else. As a result, Jude didn't get any easy cases. He was at the end of the line. He got the leftovers. By the time somebody prayed to him they had real problems—hopeless causes and impossible cases. That, they say, is how he got to be so good at dealing with the impossible.

So, whatever your problem, Jude will help. He has, undoubtedly, successfully dealt with problems more severe than yours, literally millions of times.
